Dr Latha Jagannathan, Medical Director & Managing Trustee
Besides managing the four organisations that constitute the Trust, Dr Latha Jagannathan is also the guiding force behind research projects and collaborations taken on by the Institute. A member of several state and national level committees responsible for HIV/AIDS control and prevention, and blood safety, she is actively involved in the crusade for better healthcare services at many levels.

Notable among these are the Technical Resource Group for the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), the Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society (KSAPS), the National and State Blood Transfusion Council, and the Steering Committee for Biomedical Waste Management of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board. She is also a member of the Task Force on Health and Family Welfare instituted by the Government of Karnataka, and Founder Trustee of Bangalore Hospice Trust & Karunashraya, a hospice for cancer patients.

PT Kasturi, Founding Trustee
A member of the Rotary Club of Bangalore, PT Kasturi was passionate about blood donation even much before the inception of the Rotary-TTK Blood Bank. When he became a District Governor, he addressed a long-standing dream of running a blood bank and approached the TTK group of companies. It was decided that the Rotary Club would take care of the equipment while the daily operations would be handled by TTK.

A renowned Financial Consultant, PT Kasturi used his business acument to establish the blood bank. From persuading the government to allot the land to managing the publicity - he was enthusiastically involved at every stage. Kasturi passed away in 1997 at the age of 60 during a holiday in Greece. He is remembered with great fondness as an avid Rotarian, an astute businessman, and a lover of Golf.

Arun Kumar, Founding Trustee
An energetic young Rotarian, Arun Kumar was committed to the idea of improving the lives of people around him. It was this vision that lead him to take on a key role in setting up the blood bank. That, and his talent at motivating people to support good causes.

An entrepreneur involved in manufacturing perfumes, his people skills were considerable. His natural and spontaneous empathy for other human beings was clearly reflected in his devotion to the blood bank. Arun Kumar died at the age of forty of Leukaemia (Blood Cancer). He left behind a worthy legacy — our day care transfusion centre is named after him.
