ABOUT US
Bangalore Medical Services Trust & Research
Institute was established in 1984 by the Rotary Club of Bangalore
and corporate giant TTK & Company. What started as a voluntary
blood bank run by three resolute young women, has evolved over
time to include other laboratory facilities, services and research.
Today, it is a comprehensive healthcare and research hub in Karnataka.
We work in four major areas of Blood Transfusion
and Immunohaemotology:
Apart from these areas, we are also deeply involved
in Research, Training and Awareness, and Preventive Interventions
in HIV/AIDS.
Committed to setting up systems that ensure access
to safe blood, BMST provides technical know-how and support to
other organisations as well for instituting blood banking and
transfusion services.
The organisation's other major
concerns are Thallasaemia and HIV/AIDS. It is currently working
on research projects, training modules and prevention models in
these areas.
